Willibald Plesser has been a partner of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer since 1987 and works in the Vienna office. He is a member of our corporate practice group and specialises in mergers and acquisitions, corporate law, joint ventures, energy law, contract law and investments in eastern Europe. He is the firm’s co-head for the CEE/CIS region.

Willibald was born in Haide, Austria, in 1955. He received his legal and philosophical education at the University of Vienna, from where he holds a Doctor of Laws (Dr iur) degree and a Master of Philosophy in English and History (Mag phil). He is active in the International Bar Association, including its section on Energy and Resources Law, and is a lecturer and the author of various publications on CEE topics. He was admitted to the Austrian Bar in 1986.

Willibald joined the firm in 1981 and speaks German and English.
