Martin Hamer has been a counsel since November 2008 and works in our Berlin office. He is a member of our environment, planning and regulatory (EPR) practice group and specialises in environmental and planning law. One of his main areas of work is the carbon economy and EU ETS sector including the flexible Kyoto instruments Joint Implementation (JI) and Clean Development Mechanism (CDM). Martin represents international and national clients from the energy, refinery, paper and chemical sectors.
Martin was born in Bremen, Germany, in 1968. After qualifying as a bank clerk, he studied law at the universities of Osnabrück and Freiburg in Germany and Florence, Italy. He holds a doctor of laws (Dr iur) degree from the University of Freiburg and obtained an LLM in environmental, planning and regulatory law from Nottingham Law School, United Kingdom.
Martin joined the firm in 2001. He speaks German, English and Italian.
