Elena Brandt

Elena is a principal associate specialised in data protection and privacy and a member of our data and technology practice group. She advises on strategic data and tech projects and is at the forefront of regulatory issues relating to data and privacy. Elena co-heads our Female Talent for Tech initiative.

As an expert in advising on topics related to ePrivacy, telemedia and data protection, Elena helps organisations, top tier tech companies in particular, with setting up and implementing data and technology projects in compliance with all regulatory and legislative dispositions. In this respect, Elena focuses on ePrivacy laws, new and upcoming legislation in relation to the EU Digital Strategy, including the Digital Market Act and the Digital Services Act, as well as telecommunication and antitrust laws when at the crossing with data protection.

In addition, Elena advises on general data privacy compliance, focusing in particular on the design and rolling out of digital services, digital products and any innovation-related projects.

Part of her expertise is also to help companies deal with global data and cyber breaches and (related) data litigation. Her experience includes negotiating with data protection authorities as well as intervening before courts, especially with regards to GDPR (fine) proceedings.
