Laura is a barrister at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer with extensive experience of managing complex multi-jurisdictional commercial disputes focusing on financial services matters. Alongside professional practice, she teaches contract law at the University of Oxford. She has received Associate Membership of the University of Oxford Faculty of Law and Affiliate Membership of the University of Oxford Cybersecurity Centre and was formerly a Visiting Professor at King’s College London.
The International Chamber of Commerce UK (ICC) recognised Laura as a rising star within the finance sector and Legal500 described her as a next generation lawyer in the field of Banking Litigation. She is a member of the ICC UK Banking Committee and former Chair of the ICC Young Finance Forum. She was also appointed by the Panel of Recognised International Market Experts in Finance (P.R.I.M.E Finance) as a Special Rapporteur and is a member of the International Swaps and Derivatives Association’s (ISDA) Arbitration and Dispute Resolution Committee, the Financial Markets Law Committee Banking Scoping Group, the Commercial Court, Financial List and London Circuit User Committees and the Law Society Civil Justice Committee.
Laura has published widely in established legal texts, including the including the Butterworth Journal of International Banking and Financial Law, the Journal of Banking Law and Regulation and the Law Quarterly Review.
