David Franco

David is a corporate M&A partner in the firm’s Global Transactions practice. During 25 years of professional career, 15 of which as a partner at Freshfields, he has attained deep expertise counselling in large and complex multi-jurisdictional transactions.

He advises a range of listed and unlisted clients, including private equity firms, institutional investors, SOEs, financial institutions, large corporations and industrials. His transactional practice covers a broad spectrum of cross-border M&A work (mergers and acquisitions, takeovers, joint ventures, carve-outs) as well as solvent restructurings, corporate governance and shareholder litigation. David’s sector experience includes financial institutions, energy, real estate and infrastructure among others.

David became a partner in 2007 and was the Managing Partner of the Freshfields’ Madrid office for seven years (2015-2021).

David is fluent in Spanish and English.
