Climate change and measures to tackle greenhouse gas emissions are an increasingly important part of business.

We set up our low-carbon energy team to help major national, European and international companies cope as the world moves ever closer towards a low-carbon economy.

We regularly update clients on what new developments in this area mean for them and how they can best maximise the opportunities and minimise the risks for their business.

We have advised sponsors, investors and promoters of low-carbon energy projects on a range of matters, such as the use of the flexible mechanisms under the Kyoto Protocol, in particular the clean development mechanism and joint implementation projects. We have also advised on revisions to the EU emissions trading scheme and emissions trading more generally, including disputes concerning the allocation of emissions allowances and between parties to emissions reduction purchase agreements.
