Freshfields appoints Michael Hilton as new regional managing partner for MENA
Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (‘Freshfields’) has appointed Michael Hilton as its regional managing partner for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), effective 1 July. Michael has succeeded Pervez Akhtar, who has completed his term.
Having been at the firm for over 20 years, Michael spent his first decade at Freshfields in London and his second as a partner in the M&A team in MENA - based in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. His practice focuses on cross-border private and public M&A and joint ventures, with a focus on financial sponsor work and sovereign wealth funds, as well as major corporate clients. Michael has advised on many of the major outbound investments from the UAE in recent years and some of the highest-profile transactions within the region.
